19. Policy for Photography, Filming and Social Media Broadcast

Hartley Wintney Cricket Club
Policy for Photography, Filming and Social Media Broadcast

The Club is keen to promote positive images of children playing cricket and is not preventing the use of photographic or videoing equipment. However, to ensure we carry out our duty of care to children within our care, the following will apply.

  • Photographs/images are not to be taken at matches or training without the prior permission of the parents/carers of the children. This permission can be given by proxy by the coach of each team only after parental consent for this has been granted. The coach must arrange this prior to attending matches. If no consent has been given for a child, then it is to be made known to the relevant person of the other team (e.g. coach/ team manager) so the appropriate person/s taking photographs for the other team is/are aware and can avoid taking photographs of that particular child
  • The children will be informed that a person will be taking photographs.
  • The children will be informed that if they have concerns they can report these to the coach or team manager.
  • Concerns regarding inappropriate or intrusive photography should be reported to the Club Safeguarding Officer and recorded in accordance with the Club’s Child Protection Policy and recorded in the same manner as any other child protection or safeguarding concern.
  • If photographs, eg team or action shots are submitted to the Press or published on the Club website or in the Club Newsletter, individuals will not be identified. In circumstances where there is a need to identify an individual player in the Club website, Newsletter or Press, parental permission will be sought beforehand as well as that of the child.
  • The Club Coaches may from time to time use video equipment as part of their coaching aids. This is a normal part of the coaching programme and care will be taken in storage of any such film.
  • Parents/carers and children must provide written consent for the use of photography and video analysis.
